What I learned from 2014 Tour De France Stage 1

Marcel Kittel wins in beautiful Yorkshire (UK)

The 2014 Tour De France revealed a splendid area of North-East England.
The Yorkshire beautiful country side and Yorkshire Dale National Park.
What a beauty!

This etape (stage in english) is classified as Flat and is 1906kms starting from Leeds to Harrogate.

This was obviously a chance for Sprinters to wear Yellow Jersey on the very First day of the Biggest Race of the year.
Marcel Kittel from Team Giant-Shimano win the 1st stage with his Giant Propel Carbon bike

Marcel Kittel is a Shimanoiste guy, he has been with the same team since his pro carrier debut and the components sponsor has always been Shimano.

So, stage one is won by a V-brakes equipped Giant Propel Carbon bike and Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 9070 groupset, Shimano Dura-Ace C50 Carbon Tubular wheelset, Shimano Dura-Ace pedals, Vittoria Corsa SC 700x25c tubulars tires made in Thailand, SRM powermeter crankset and PRO (Shimano components brand) components such as the saddle, 140mm stem and Aluminium habdlebar.

Another interesting thing is the first time On-Board video in the Tour De France. The Shimano CM-1000 camera is mounted on Bianchi, Lampre-Merida, Orica-GreenEdge and of course, Giant-Shimano bikes.
Team Cannondale bikes are equipped with Garmin Virb video camera.

Here is the Stage 1 on-board video: Stage 1 On-Board Video

Final word goes to Yorkshire Public, what a crowd !!
