Gent-Wevelgem 2012 Complete Start List and Race Details

Gent-Wevelgem (Belgium) is the 3rd most prestigious 1 day Cobblestones Classic Race after Paris-Roubaix and Tour of Flanders.
The race offer a chance to Sprinters that will have enough velocity to go over the tough Mont Kemmel.

The race was created in 1934, it has never been won more than 3 times by the same rider. They are 4 riders that hold 3 victories of the Gent-Wevelgem: 3 of them are Belgian, Robert van Eenaeme, Rik van Looy et Eddy Merckx, and most surprising, the italian legendl Mario Cipollini, winner in 1992, 1993 and 2002.

The 2012 course is 235kms long.
